  • A pollard-willow in the Beemster, with a sitting duck in it.

  • To swim through the earth and know everything that happens down there, fertility goddess (see also Inward, In my sleep, Golden shower).

  • Sprout

    2005

    Bean sprouting in the earth.

  • Roots

    2003

The branches in a square form: our conscious thinking branched so delicately that subtle communication by speech becomes possible. The roots draw from the vital energy of the subconscious and nourish the upper part (see also Osmose).

  • Even with your head in the sand there might be interesting things to discover.

  • Magma

    2002

Meteoric Stone with a fiery core. Danger.

  • Gaia

    1995

The earth as an old cauldron covered with fossils and filled with lava as her vital energy (see also Thalassa , Water of life and Panta Rhei).

  • Intertwining circles of 9 different animal skins and 9 bones. We do our best, but to create life it needs more than sticking skin and bones to one another.

  • Healing Stone, as an Indian talisman.

  • Calyx

Vase-like form ending in recipient organic calyx. Blending of two aspects (see also March wind).

  • Cycle

Representation of the cycle of decay-composting (see also Compost)

  • March wind

    1978

Man-made form ending in the seemingly chaos of nature. Blending of these two aspects.

  • Man merged in nature, ideas as birds touching down in his brain.

  • A pollard-willow at the Beemster dike, with a nest in one of its branches

  • Shaman

    1982

Magician blended with earth-stone-air (see also Language of the birds)

  • Compost

    1978

The miraculous process of composting: everything that has grown into elaborate vegetal and animal form, is converted into its basic materials by a huge army of little animals, fungi and bacteria. Where would we be without this precious decay!

  • The earth as foster-mother of all life.
